Rog has breathed filmmaking for the past 15 years, and today is one of the most sought after talent in Brazilian film market. In spite of an accidental start: as a journalism major, he bumped into film school people while living in New York. That eventually landed him his first gig as a cameraman on a film set, and that first look through the lenses really showed the direction forward. Back in Brazil, he managed to roam incognito at all departments of a production house, before being caught by a grumpy editor. Everybody appreciated his guts, and so he was made assistant director.
These same guts took him to Cuba, where he graduated in screenwriting at Escuela de Cine de San Antonio de Los Banos. Then to Rome, where he operated the camera on top of a Vespa, filming streets, the Coliseum, the Vatican Square. A hands-on approach which has translated into an exquisite and unique vision, a touch of "life-appeal".
Rog has directed for brands such as Budweiser, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mercedes Benz and Toyota. He's collaborated with Ogilvy, Dm9ddb, Africa, fnazca Saatchi and Saatchi, Dentsu, among others. Rog is short for Rogério, which he considers just too serious.
